Here’s a unique cat you might not have known about; Pallas’s Cat (or a Manul). We recently posted this cute cat photo on our Instagram but we actually didn’t know what it was.
One of our mote knowledgable users left a comment saying it is a Pallas’s Cat. Intrigued, we decided to investigate a little more about the world of The Pallas’s Cat aka Manul.
The Palla’s cat is basically around the same size as a domestic cat. Except its fur is long, dense making it appear stout and plush. In fact, the fur of the Palla’s Cat is the densest and longest amongst cats. There are clear black rings on the tail and dark spots on the forehead. The cheeks are white with narrow black stripes running from the corners of the eyes.
The legs are proportionately shorter than those of other cats, the ears are set very low and wide apart, and it has unusually short claws. The face is shortened compared with other cats, giving it a flattened face.
The Palla’s cat is listed as an endangered species. You can kind of guess why from the cat’s majestic fur coat. #saynotofur
We think The Palla’s Cat is pretty cute and awesome. Just look at this guy’s face lol
Can’t blame the Manul cat for looking like a big ole’ gromper. We’d be pretty grumpy too if we were endangered! Wouldn’t you be too?
